We recently held our annual 10-Year Club lunch, celebrating 16 team members who have dedicated more than a decade to our business, with more to join next year. This event highlighted the commitment, trust, and camaraderie that define GSA's strong culture and values.
This year I was proud to mark my 20th anniversary at GSA.
Each morning as I walk into the magnificent offices at 137 Harrington St, I’m reminded of how I felt back in 2004 as I embarked on my career at GSA. I felt lucky to be here, surrounded by incredible people and mentored by industry leaders. Nothing has changed. I now feel privileged to lead this company that has given me so much personally and professionally.
Our Chairman, Paul Hines, whose mentorship over the past 20 years has been invaluable and has ensured I am equipped with the tools to continue the remarkable legacy that he created nearly 35 years ago.
Our staff, clients and partners remained our focus in 2024. We thank the business owners and leaders who entrusted us this past year. We’ve implemented several new initiatives that will allow us to continue to provide leading service and trusted solutions. Some of the highlights include appointing new Heads of Division, launching new offices in Brisbane (QLD) and South Yarra (VIC) to further invest in our service offering in those regions, and building our industry-specific specialisation such as the launch of our GSA Hospitality offering. We welcomed four new leaders to GSA’s High Performance Pathway program, aimed at accelerating our staff capability and giving them the framework to become future leaders in the industry.
In what is now an annual highlight for the insurance industry, we hosted our 10th Touch of Colour fundraising event raising over $1.25m for KidsXpress. We are already in planning for next year with 23 teams signed up and introduced a cocktail launch party to further showcase the great work Margo Ward and her team does for the kids.
The insurance market showed significant resilience in 2024, driven by shifts in the global political and economic environment, and an influx of new capacity locally and overseas. It's a timely reminder each business and risk is unique, underlining the importance of having a broker who takes the time to understand your business and goals, effectively presenting your risk to the market to achieve the best outcome for you.
As we look ahead to 2025, we’re preparing to celebrate GSA’s 35th anniversary, a testament to the relationships we've built and our team's dedication.
From all of us here at GSA, we wish you, your family, and friends a restful and safe holiday season.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
